Opportunist

Today I’ve spent most the day on paperwork and further clearing out of the craft room, which has been quite satisfying.

I’ve blipped this juvenile jay before; he’s a regular visitor to our garden, and often sits on the bench beside the twisted hazel tree. Today, after surveying the garden from that vantage point for a while, he suddenly swooped down on to the lawn. It would appear that he’d spotted a stray peanut that must have been dropped by another bird after visiting the nearby feeder. 

I’m amazed at how fast the peanuts go down – I filled the feeder only yesterday morning, and it’s a really large one, but today it’s already only half full – or it’s half empty, depending on how you look at it!
