The course

Swimming went really well again today, although I was a nervous wreck watching from a far. I couldn't sit down as I was pacing around trying to keep an eye on both kids in their groups. I found it really hard when I saw Olivia's teacher leading them from the shallow training pool to the big 25m deep pool - what? It's only her second lesson! I knew Olivia would be nervous and I half expected her to refuse to get in and I did see a brief exchange of words but then before I knew it she was in the pool happily following instructions and swimming! She was absolutely glowing again when we met her afterwards and was really proud of herself and can't wait to go swimming again tomorrow. I can't describe the relief. Dexter seemed to spend most of his time licking the water and standing with his hands down his trunks!

This afternoon Daddy took Dexter to a play date with Georges and while they away Olivia and I played basketball, skipping, did some hama beads and baked some banana muffins.

This evening I attended a photography workshop for three hours. It was the first course that I've done and although I knew a lot of the basic things about composition etc it was the trickier things that I really wanted to learn such as the exposure triangle so that I can have complete control of my camera and stop being scared of using manual. I really enjoyed the class and feel inspired to try new things so as of tomorrow I will be trying to change my ways (and camera settings!).
