Le Tour de France

Up at 2am to get an early flight to Nice for the Tour de France. My hosts own the yellow Auberge on the right Le Auberge de la croix de la Pape or translated, 'The inn of the cross of the Pope', as Pope Pious the seventh stayed here a way back.

It will be opening as a restaurant in the near future.

The road was closed off and the race preempted by a pageant of sponsors and pageants supported by locals en route.

The race was over all too briefly and we got to settle down and relax before too long.
