Having got over my Fire Fighter obsession (which wasn't really an obsession as I knew him at school) after I spent a number of years married to one, I do still like a fire engine. This one was being cleaned as I walked down to the harbour to see the sea lions and pick up a boat to Alcatraz.

When we planned to come to SF I said I wanted to experience a typical foggy day, and an earthquake (just a small one). When I woke up this morning a fog bank was hanging around the bay, which was great for the trip and added to the whole experience. What a desolate place Alcatraz must have been. I'm glad we saw the bridge yesterday as it never really cleared up all day and was quite chilly at times.

I'm still waiting for my earthquake. Apparently there are small, undetectable ones every day, and a noticeable one about once a week. We have another 24hrs to go, fingers crossed.
