Water

A busy first half of the day and then a more sedate second half, all of it revolving around the activities and requirements of small children.

Then, after tea (and here the beauty of the summer holidays and later bedtimes becomes evident) a walk along the canal to a pal's house where the children all had a water fight and got completely soaked whilst the grown-up drank coffee and didn't. Ice creams on the way home, and they were in bed for, erm, 10. Lie-in tomorrow beckons. As if.
