Rowan

It's said to be a Rowan-berry year, it certainly is here and I saw a lot when I was in the northern part of Sweden as well. I always thought these variations were local but I might be wrong, it's happened before.

I was told by my parents that a lot of Rowan-berries meant we'll have a cold winter, somehow the berries will help birds and other animals through winter. 
According to Mrs Google this is nonsense. If anything, it says something about last years summer, the amount of berries are controlled partly by  natural variations in the tree, partly by other factors.
 
Soon I will be told there is no Santa Clause either...

They make a good blip though.
