Selfie with a Bear at the Beach
The weather was so so glorious that we bunked off Pre-School this afternoon to go back to the beach for a proper swim - after we'd avoided the height of the heat though. It was too hot to MOVE.
Bear was not impressed. He allowed me to put his swimming pants on, and had a brief paddle, but both boys wanted Mama *sigh*. Bean did some brilliant diving for a rock, allowing Steve to move the rock a little deeper each time. Swimming however he did not fancy trying. Bear had a paddle but it was definitely cooler today than it was yesterday and he wasn't very impressed at all. Even less so when I left him with Steve while I went for a real swim! Maaaaaan I wanted to swim and swim and swim. It was perfect. Absolutely perfect for swimming. And the boys wouldn't let me go back in. Bean got upset when he thought I was going too deep, and tried to stop me by getting a piggyback but he got scared when I took him out of his depth too.
Ah well.
That's one personal fear conquered - I've had an issue with swimming in open water for many years. Not the actual going into the water, but the swimming bit. Even though I'm a perfectly competent swimmer! So to swim, and to relish the feeling of utter freedom of swimming in open water, rather than feeling fear or helplessness, was such a luxurious feeling.
Creation Station this morning. Massively late thanks to super clingy children helping give us a very very late night last night, but at least my prep was done and the session went really well! I'm going to miss that group of kids. It was my last session with them as I won't be running the Monday groups come September. Lots of flicking of paint going on - AT the paper as well, and the kids loved it!
Got home, shattered, and this happened. I can't believe Bean ended his blip drought with that!!!
