Rushcutters Bay
In Sydney again today for another medical appointment, this time for isbi and it was in the inner east of the city on the harbour.
To kill some time I strolled around Rushcutters Bay Park, the main blip being across the bay to Darling Point and the extra looking across Garden Island to the Coathanger with North Sydney on the right.
The name Garden Island would imply a peaceful public space with a spectacular view down the harbour - well, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad as they say but only one is a fail!! It’s actually a naval dockyard with no public access and why it needs to still occupy one of the most valuable pieces of real estate in Australia has been a mystery to the majority of Australians for decades.
Anyway, I enjoyed my walk around the park observing the passing parade on the harbour. The other reason I love visiting this area of Sydney is that it reminds me why we made the decision nearly 50 years ago to live, work and raise our family somewhere else. The traffic is horrendous, parking impossible and the locals unfriendly. It does have a nice outlook over the harbour though!
