Rainy day walk

Awoke to torrential rain and a somewhat irritated look at the calendar.  B&C had done a small shop for dinner tonight so V and I went into the E.Leclerc in Souillac for the next couple of days. We decided to stay out for lunch as the rain cascaded over the cars outside the supermarket.  We found a slightly soulless but busy small bistro and ate a delicious menu of local produce and salad.  Souillac is a bit run down with old streets full of empty hollowed out shops. We went into the 12th Century (restored 18th C) basilica which was beautiful and impressive.  But very empty.

Back home we walked into the village with B C and the babies, the picture is of Cheryl and Leo in the lane, picking figs from the trees and talking to various people.  It’s a small commune of 140 people but with large houses and a chateau.  Again, no one here really.

Lovely dinner, I cooked coq au vin and we had fresh goats cheese and mirabelle plums to finish
