Sea Ilfracombe
...Maritime Festival. Great for spotting pirates and the like wandering around the seafront :)
We were all up fairly early today - which led to a pretty relaxing morning before we set off for the seafront to enjoy the live music. We got pasties for lunch and ate them sitting on the harbour wall, then watched the end of the Ukulele Band of North Devon ("not to be confused with the North Devon Ukulele Band"), and the start of the next act (Greater Good). We then wandered over to Rapparee Cove for a bit of beach time, and rock clambering. Then to the Lime Kiln Cafe for a sit down and a coffee - and then back to the festival for some sea shanties with Anchors Aweigh.
It turned out to be quite hot and sunny, which was a bit much for Tim, so he headed home slightly before us - and then kindly came back to collect us in the car, saving us a tired trudge up the hill to home.
Poor Effie was cream crackered and ended up going for a nap - but re-emerged in time for dinner. We all played a board game afterwards (Oh So Clover - it was fun!), then played a few more after Effie had gone to bed - and drank some more of Tim's home made wine :)
