Agin The Coalyard Wall
The old skiff lies up against the coalyard wall, out of sight unless you climb the style to walk along the shoreline at low tide. Now, after many winters without attention, wind and tides have had their way.
Holed and ribs exposed, peeling paint almost expunged, I wonder at both its longevity, a testament to a craft on its wane, and to how few years I will have left to discover its aesthetic beauty.
