A lady of leisure
I had to go out earlier today to pick up a parcel because the postman hadn't waited until someone answered to door yesterday. When I got back I found Rosie stretched out like this and I wished I could have joined her for the rest of the day.
At the risk of starting to sound like a broken record, today was yet another day with temperatures that were much too high for me. Unfortunately it looks like they're going to rise even higher at the weekend and I'm already dreading the full day's meeting on Monday!
I still went to the sanctuary this afternoon even though it was so warm again and had a very nice walk with a lovely Staffordshire girl who didn't have a name yet. The best moment of the day though was the wonderful news that my favourite dog there Thelma had been adopted and that she was already at her new home. I really hope that this one will be the forever home where she can live out the rest of her life with people who love her and care for her.
After the walk I felt like I was melting so I didn't look for anything to blip at the park but instead I treated myself to a lovely cool drink sitting in the shade on the terrace of the café of a nearby museum.
I didn't have time to stop at the artificial island on my way to the sanctuary to see if any of the Great Crested Grebe's eggs had hatched yet. I'd hoped to be able to stop there on my way home though but unfortunately when I left the house this afternoon my mother asked me to pick up a tub of ice cream on the way back so I couldn't stop there then either as the ice cream would definitely have melted if I had stopped to watch to Grebe's nest. Hopefully I can check if there has been any progress tomorrow.
Many thanks for all the comments and stars on yesterday's moth blip. As usual they are very much appreciated!
