Visited Shokoji Temple, a Buddhist temple having been designated as a National Treasure in Japan, with one of my friends. It is asking you to take off your slippers when stepping onto tatami, a straw and rush mat. 

Fortunately it didn't rain at all despite the fact that the typhoon was approaching then. After all the typhoon didn't hit our area.
