Drying out
A lovely evening yesterday but not quite as planned. We went to the pub to meet some friends for an early supper and a wallow in the last of the sunshine but unfortunately many people had the same idea and the kitchen was over-whelmed and had stopped taking any more orders. We enjoyed a drink then managed to get a table in the pizza place in Durrus.
Today has been grey but not as wet as forecast. I have collected hydrangea blooms and fennel seeds to dry, made some grape juice and made my first ever apple pie - it looks a bit of a beast and we're about to tackle it shortly! I will report back.
We also managed a swim - the wind an unusual south -easterly whipping into Kitchen Cove and the going was brisk!
And now it's September.
