Rally Good Morning

Nice couple of hours at Craufurdland Castle near Kilmarnock today for the Lombard Classic Rally (before getting back to interminable tiling).

Struggled to choose a favourite from the day, so a few extras, listed below.

The muckle Volvo must have been a handful. Tonnes of Escorts (Mark 1 through to Cossie). Just the one Mini for me.

Mk 2 Escort in the final hairpin (I liked the guy filming it in frame)
Arty Peugeot 205 tracked through the trees
Toyota Supra head-on (Sega Rally come to life)
Escort Cosworth tracking (I loved that whale tail as a kid)
The solo Mini (I had to really)
Hyundai i20 throwing up gravel
Lovely old blue Saab

I got into retrospective trouble from a marshal who someone had told I was standing ‘on’ the bales to get. I was actually behind them on a bench, but that was ‘to close to the track’. You’ll notice the final hairpin had people lining right up beside it, with much more chance of disaster, given the layout. But hey, had a good couple of chats with the marshal after, so all was good.
