Dundas Harbour, Canada

A very bleak day!  Cold, foggy, raining ... and here we are at Dundas Harbour on Devon Island -- completely unpeopled, and the largest uninhabited island in the world.  It is said that this place is the closest thing to Mars on Planet Earth!

We had  the option of making a wet landing via Zodiac to trek across a narrow peninsula to view the remains of an old RCMP post, but what with the inhospitable weather, coupled with the fact that this is an area known to have an active Polar Bear population, I decided to forego an unfortunate encounter with a large, hungry, white furry thing in the fog!  Brave Mr. W is out there somewhere ... I hope he is finding the experience worthwhile!
