Ride into the Peaks with youngest

After a lazy start apart from hanging out a washing load & putting some more in, in the very late morning I asked youngest pillion if she fancied a ride out for lunch on Biscuit. She doesn't like getting saddle sore but given the weather was nice and well, lunch, she said yes.

We dipped in & out of Buxton on the A6 for Bakewell but after the lovely long descent from Taddington, somewhere else passed through many times but not explored looked more inviting - Ashford On The Water - so we stopped there and happened upon The Bulls Head hiding away with a couple of empty tables outside.

Youngest had a BLT, your Gal a Cheese & Tomato sandwich and we shared a side of Chips sat in the sunshine. If whoever is in charge of the weather could extend this little end of a summery spell then we will be very grateful! Before leaving we took a stroll to the Sheepdip Bridge the village is known for but I couldn't get a good photo because of tourists (not that we are locals or anything lol)

Remounting little Biscuit we rode north through Calver & Hathersage heading for the Snake Pass but the sun was still making everything niiice. At the traffic lights where we would have turned up to Bamford I nudged behind, asked "Ice Cream?" and got an affirmative nod.

So straight on to Castleton then to join a queue to buy one each before climbing Winnats Pass to head back via Chapel En Le Frith & Hayfield.

Not a bad day by all accounts :-)
