An ordinary life....

Wall flowers...

Well the tub they are in sit on the little wall at the entrance to our front door :-) I sat beside them whilst D demonstrated how to get my wheels into the boot of the car using the new boot ramps we bought.  Fab!  This means I have freedom to go out with my girl pals and not worry about them having to heave my wheels in and out of the car boot!  Woo hoo!

Prior to that we had lunch then mid afternoon I took myself off to the studio to work on Mairi's thistle painting.  It's been vexing me.  Despite several attempts I've just not been happy with the results and feeling uptight when approaching a painting never yields good results!

Today I entered the studio with a more positive frame of mind.  As I began drawing the thistle on top of the painted background I listened to the wonderful music of Mitsuko Uchida, who I hadn't heard of till yesterday when I read about her on Kendall's blip of the wonderful Margie.  What a treat!  I am fairly new to classical music and the music of this wonderful woman was just what I needed to listen to, to relax, free my mind and get into the flow.  I also had a lovely chat with Kendall as I painted.  Oh the joy of Blip and the internet!

First layer of paint now on the thistle and progressing well.  I am seeing Mairi on Tuesday.  I don't think it will be finished by then but it should be well on its way.

Now about to make Jamie Oliver's Crispy Asian beef for dinner while D tries to work out how his golf bag is over the weight limit for the plane, and he's still to put his toilet bag in it!  I am keeping out of his way!  :-))
