Nature Diary... Viola Tricolour... Pansy
After a couple of almost heatwave days the weather changed on the South Coast of England today and became dull grey, very breezy, and finally started to spatter some icy droplets of rain.
Today's walk around the town showed far fewer cars parking bumper to bumper, and a drive to the local farm revealed hoards of cars heading out of town with hardly any coming in. No doubt later in the day local home owners holidaying somewhere else will be streaming back this weekend as local school terms begin again during next week. Peace and sanity might reign supreme once again, local shops might be more inviting to visit minus the crowds, and parking places will become available around the shops the once more.
Praises be.
Meanwhile, in the garden, having bloomed throughout the summer alongside many of its lookalikes, this pretty little Pansy is still managing to produce delightful blooms although most of its neighbours planted nearby have now faded and died. Maybe it's time to buy some Cyclamen or something, to fill in the empty spaces. There were no Cyclamen available in the farm shop today so a trip to a garden centre might be necessary eventually. How lovely that will, be minus the crowds.
