Say it isn't true!
I've had 2 woolly bear caterpillars in the house recently. Well, they look like woolly bears but without the rusty brown part. Folk lore says, the more black on a woolly bear, the more severe the winter! Yikes! I had to rush to the Old Farmer's Almanac for guidance. They say all-black, all-white, or yellow woolly caterpillars are not woolly bears! They are different species and not part of the woolly bear lore. So, if you spot an entirely black caterpillar, it isn’t forecasting an apocalyptic winter! Phew!
