Dried seed head

A bit of an inside day with rain showers off and on.  I did manage to get some walks in though.
I spent a bit of time taking a few macro images using the light table and bits and pieces I had stashed away from last autumn. 
I don't know what this seed head is or even if its the right way up. 
I'm sure it would look better in large. 
The background seems to have taken on a bit of a blue hue.  It was looking white in Photoshop.
