Golden fields and fallen leaves
Friday
It may have looked like Fall on the bike trail, with all the fallen leaves, but with the temperature heading up to almost 100F (37C) by late afternoon, it certainly didn’t feel like it! We should have got up earlier and got out earlier, and we should have chosen a more deeply shaded stretch…. but having driven up there, I wanted to get in at least 11 miles - “mad dogs and Englishmen…”! There were some other “nutters” out there, but not too many!
One nice thing about our Tesla, is we can tell it to start the air conditioning from our phones, so Roger started it when we were about a mile out, so it felt great to get back to the air conditioned car! Fortunately, the temperatures cool down a bit after today, and we may get some rain tomorrow - a shame for the holiday weekend, but we desperately need it!
When we got back I had to get on with cleaning the hardwood floors downstairs - kitchen, hall and breakfast room.
As I write this in the evening, we are awaiting the arrival of Laura and Liam for the long weekend - Labor Day. They should arrive about 11:pm
