Forester's Cottage

It seems appropriate that the forester's cottage in Aden Park is gradually being hidden by the forest The foresters would have been responsible for planting and managing the  Woodlands and specimen trees throughout the estate. In the 1830s the estate was redesigned by Caroline Lampton, wife of the 4th Russell Laird of Aden - the magnificent trees in what is known as the Victorian Aboretum were planted at her instigation.
