Inexplicable

It's not the sort of thing you expect to be in a position to ever have to explain. Why? What are you doing in Sheffield listening to 77 year old Gilbert O'Sullivan sing Clair to a crowd of pensioners on a Thursday afternoon?

The best explanation I can offer is that The Divine Comedy and Richard Hawley are on later and we're just killing time, enjoying a beer on the grass. And it was all good. Some local bands, some bigger names and a crowd of people who know how to put their litter in a bin.

Only a mile walk from the hotel when it was done and apart from the 24 hour Greggs drive-thru refusing to sell us a late-night steak bridie because we weren't in a car, it was a grand day out. Hotel bar still open when we got back for a wee nightcap and an Uber booked for the station in the morning.
