Hinckley Beacon

or at least a replica of the original beacon which stood on the site at around the time of the invasion of the Armada....the plaque reads that it was one of the early warning beacons. Forgive me if I`m a bit thick, but as Leicester is middle England and we`re 88 miles from the nearest coast (Skegness), would the good people of Leycester give a two hoots about an invasion on the South coast..
This one was erected in 1997 and I think it was lit for the Millenium celebrations
