Finally

The keys have been obtained! They’re both delighted and very giddy with lots of exciting plans.

In the end it all went smoothly today but yesterday was a tad mental - I was in the bank again for an inordinate amount of time, and because we are giving some money towards the house purchase I was grilled for money laundering purposes. They stopped short of a strip search but that may have been less excruciating. The annoying bit is that they get very tied up over irrelevant details and sweep past the questions they should be asking. I’d like to make it plain that I’m NOT a money launderer but the rules seem to make it awkward and tedious for genuine folk while a crook could easily ride a coach and horses through them. Grrr!!! Anyway, after a stressful week it’s all gone through and there are two very happy young people in north London tonight so it was all worth it.

It’s 16.52 so I think that’s close enough to 5pm for a drink.
