Boules (absence of)

..."boundless and bare, the lone and level sands stretch far away." That's the line the popped into my head but actually this is just a rather weedy boules court and it doesn't even stretch as far as Gateshead college.

The air-conditioning in the office was on overdrive so we were all putting jackets on. It turned out to be warm and pleasant outside; but when I got into the train to come home the air-conditioning didn't seem to be working at all in our carriage; very unpleasant.
