An away day
After a hearty breakfast of kippers and fresh bread I drove M to Exeter st David’s train station in Exeter, he was returning home to sort out the family home after both of his parents departed earlier this year. A quick wander around Exeter reminded me that the countryside was my home.
I stopped for 40 minutes and it cost me £4-50 in car parking fees!!
In need of some fresh air I had planned to visit Belstone for a walk and perhaps a Tea room visit. The walk provided Dippy and I with four or five miles of glorious views and mindfulness experiences.
Unfortunately the Tea room was closed and so blackberries were the source of nourishment for me, Dippy managed to find several morsels under the odd picnic tables en route!
A bee line for the Madewell cafe and gardens prevented a collapse due to starvation;) Lemon and ginger tea sausage roll crisps and flapjack saved the day.
Back home we were greeted by four pigs who had escaped from their enclosure and two sheep looking for greener pastures!
After supper R, a four of the pack of dogs enjoyed a campfire with one of the campers sharing our day’s adventures in words.
