In 1948 a local butcher in Leicester named Henry Walker founded these crisps. By 1989 the firm was taken over by Lay’s owner of Frito - Pepsi Co .
The walker site in Leicester produces over 10 Million bags of crisps per day from the time potatoes are delivered to the factory using about 800 tons of potatoes.
The other interesting thing is that the family business ( I presume butchers & snacks) was sold to the USA firm in 1970 .
So this is another bit of pub quiz knowledge ( well you never know this may be the answer that wins the quiz for you) lol.

Well it got me out & a change of scenery!
