This week's opening lines feel repetitive. Once again, I woke to the sound of rain against the windows. When I peeked outside, it was grey, but hints of blue sky persuaded me to go for my morning walk. I avoided the common to steer clear of muddy ground and revisited my old route around the block. I also resumed listening to my audiobook, The Secret Barrister: Nothing but the Truth: The Memoir of an Unlikely Lawyer. Having fallen out of my morning walk routine, I had also neglected my audiobook habit. Fortunately, I had paused at a natural break in the narrative, making it easy to pick up where I left off. By the time I returned home, the sky had cleared to blue. There is a 'Yellow Warning' for rain tomorrow but today turned bright after the rainy start.

Last night, I listened to some nutritionists discussing the benefits of savoury breakfasts over sweet ones. Since I had some mushrooms to use up, I made an omelette and added avocado. This meal ticked many boxes they mentioned, such as reducing hunger by avoiding blood sugar spikes. However, I was just as hungry by lunchtime.

The morning was filled with meetings, including another impressive engineering presentation—this time, focusing more on architecture and some UX work rather than a demo. Afterwards, I ate my lunch of leftovers while preparing a large salad for our evening train journey to The Island.

We caught an early enough train to make the 8:20 pm ferry, although it ran slightly late. The boat was quite busy. PY began to worry that the return journey might be crowded, but we'll deal with that on Monday. We managed to get ahead of the crowd to walk down the pier. It was a bit windy, but there was no water under most of the structure as the tide was very low this evening.

Upon arriving at the flat, there was still a faint smell from the painting PY did last week. He had also framed and hung the Isle of Wight scratch map, which looks really nice. Later, I was introduced to a Disney+ series called Tracker, a crime drama that suits my taste perfectly.
