Range Anxiety

It's foggy today, good thing I'm off to Brussels!

This is Baker Street, viewed from another angle, less dark though.

Today consisted in a road trip to Nottingham in the Nissan Leaf with Stewart, my supervisor. Vroom vroom. Well not really, electric cars make so little noise, it puts me to sleep. We stopped by a couple places to look at charging posts and fill out evaluation forms. By the time we were in Nottingham at the garage though, we were in a rush to get back so I could catch my train for Brussels. That was an interesting journey, as the range on electric cars is obviously quite limited. We were running on a battery about 2/3rds charged, but driving on the highway takes its toll. Stewart opted for blasting the car speed though, in exchange for draining the battery. We had a predicated range of 3 miles left by the time we hit the rapid charge station on the M1. Damn, talk about range anxiety.
The question was whether to blast on speed and have to spend longer charging, or drive slower and then save time on charging. We chose the first option because the first half of the battery charges faster than the latter. Are you still following?
Anyways, long story short, I made it back to the flat with exactly 10 minutes before my train was leaving. And then made it to Brussels! Exhausting though.
