Highgrove

LnR & J & I visited Highgrove Gardens today. The design & planting was beautifully done as you would expect from top designers & plantsmen/women. We were escorted through formal gardens with the famous thyme walk leading from the French doors of the house to a water feature at the far end. There were wildflower meadows, an arboretum, azalea & hydrangea walks & a stumpery all with seats & nooks made from fallen oak trees. The grandchildren had a tree house hidden by clever planting & the house itself was softened by roses, wisteria, jasmine & vines.
We had tea & cakes in the cafe & a wander around the gift shop.
Very enjoyable day out.
