Teddington Lock Bridge repairs
Teddington Lock Bridge has been undergoing a major overhaul for months..about a year I think already. The actual,Bridge structure has been repaired and painted but now the ramp leading up to the bridge is being completely rebuilt. They have had to put up a dam…the bags of ballast ..to hold back the tidal river and there is a long temporary ramp for cyclists and pedestrians to use. This is a well used route across the river from Teddington to Ham…100’s use it every day to get to work/ school as well as loads of dog walkers, runners and cyclists.
This was taken from the bridge looking towards Twickenham( see the new blue paint on the bridge!) I went there this morning en route to water a friend’s garden while she is away. As you can see from the sky it was a lovely day, warm and humid.
This afternoon we went to a friends at Guildford ..traffic there easy. Traffic back avoiding the A3 was terrible, 90 mins for a journey that took us about 40 to get there!
