Running away
Two weeks leave is not long enough and at the same time too long. The acute inpatient unit is under constant pressure to admit those who need more than they can get in the community. Because we rarely have the luxury of empty beds, those needing admission can have that only by discharging one or more.
Two weeks is long enough for some to improve and be discharged. It's not long enough for new admissions to have made much improvement. Lots of assessments and meetings some of which had been deferred until my return.
After I got home, I emptied the barrow of the accumulated water from today's showers. Ostensibly into a few pots with plants; most of it escaped down the drive.
