Today's project
We started a big project today. Lots of wood from some downed tree needed to be cut into shorter lengths so it could be stacked. I ended up renting a chain saw and a trimmer. The grass and weeds have been growing all summer.
The customer contacted me in June, and after looking at my website he decided that I was the one he wanted for the job. The house belongs to his 95 year old father-in-law, who now lives with him. His wife had not kept in contact with her father for over 30 years, then they decided to try and find him. He was living alone, just waiting to die. My customer was telling us some stories about him today, he must have been quite the character in his younger days. He plans to keep the house and will renovate it and use it as a place for friends to stay. He wants to get the gardens cleaned up as his FIL and his wife were quite proud of the gardens. We will spend another day out there in September.
I added an extra taken during the sunset cruise last night. It was a beautiful night to be out on the water. Twenty people, and the 2 hours passed quickly. They took us down the Northwest Arm as far as the Armdale Yacht Club, then turned around and took us along the Halifax waterfront. The water was so calm last night. I claimed my spot at the rail and stood for the whole 2 hours, which passed rather quickly.
