Strange things surfacing from Ogatomar’s bits that we brought back from Belgium - not just a potato peeler and a pot or two, but this piece of music - I can remember Evans playing this lovely tune, and think it very likely that this was the strange guitar tuning that he favoured - although I don’t know that he ever recorded it. 

Why, oh why, would you tune the 6th string down to C when the tune is transcribed in the key of A? Ik weet het niet.
