Great Willowherb
I knew we would be back late, so had planned to take today off. TT on the other hand went straight back to work. I have done that too many times in the past, so I thought I would be sensible this year.
It was wet and grey when I got up, which didn’t fill me with joy, especially as the laundry baskets were overflowing. BB did minimal washing last week, as he knew we would be back soon! Ever the optimist, I put the washing machine was on – and thankfully the day brightened and four loads of washing were done, all hung out and all dried. A good result.
BB and I had made a plan to go for breakfast today, but as he didn’t appear until noon, that didn’t happen. We went out for lunch and were amazed that everywhere was very busy. There were no tables in the first two places we tried, but it was third time lucky – even though we had a short wait. I had soup, as it feels like we are moving into autumn, though we haven’t had much of a summer. It was then home for a few chores, a late afternoon walk and a trip to the supermarket, before organising tea.
After tea, I had to go to the other supermarket, for the things I couldn’t get earlier, and then I had thoughts of going back to work tomorrow.
This great willowherb is along the railway path. The Wildlife Trusts website reports that it is found throughout the UK, but is less common on Scotland. I have seen it around here for the past few years, but I don’t ever remember seeing this when I was younger – only the more common willowherb.
