Fanny’s boots.

A quick whiz around Museum and Art Swindon this afternoon. I was attending our monthly meeting for the Unlocking Collections project.

We now have a long list of pictures for our exhibition. All very exciting.

More information about Fanny’s boots:

Football Boots Belonging to Fanny Williams, about 1921

Fanny Williams was a member of Swindon Town Ladies Football Club. The team played many competitive matches, including one against Huddersfield Ladies Football Club in 1921. Unfortunately in that same year, the Football Association banned women's competitive football, so Fanny's football career was cut short.
