Shock of the new- eating out

We had to go into Edinburgh yesterday and decided to treat ourselves to a modest Italian meal. I had two starters and a glass of tap water. M had a main course and a glass of red wine- bill £57 ( including 10 per cent tip).

We were not even in a fashionable part of Edinburgh but a gritty area near Haymarket station.

Earlier on arrival in the city we had two cups of tea  and two cakes ( their coffee machine was broken) - £17.50.

Was it worth it? no.
