Common Darter

This dragonfly is a common darter, Sympetrum striolatum.


I saw just two of them and this was the only one I got close to.



Common darters are fairly common around here in late summer.  Not in great numbers, but you are almost certain to find one or two at Kinghorn Loch this time of year.
