Neighbours

Mick Doyle and Ted Flaherty have been living next to each other since 1982. Jeezus, that's 42 years ago, would you believe? They moved in within five days of one another. The houses were brand new. They were in their early thirties. It was a time when buying a house in your thirties wasn't the stuff of legends. It actually happened. 
They say hello to each other every day. They wish each other a merry Christmas and happy new year. They exchange brief considerations of a meteorological nature, from time to time. 

They hate each other's guts.
