For the family

An early visitor for breakfast

This is not a good picture, but I’m highly unlike to get the opportunity again, so I’ll make the best of it.

I woke just after 5am and looked out of the bedroom curtains to see a grey figure hunched over the bird seed dish on the ground. I thought that it was probably eating the seed, but very slowly. I watched for about 15 minutes before it turned round sufficiently and the daylight increased, for me to see clearly that it was a badger. I’ve never seen a living one before, only the odd casualty on the road.

The leisurely breakfast took at least 25minutes, I wanted to wait until it moved on to see where it headed. It ran up the grass bank, a short way along the path, then disappeared into the wilderness towards the field.

A busy afternoon in the garden and now plan to to watch the Edinburg Tattoo on the TV tonight. It will be awesome!!!! I’d love to attend again, we haven’t been for many years.
