Bounce House...at Church?
We had a special day at church today, a sort-of So Long to Summer with the majority of the service done by the youth, and a sandwich-plus lunch provided.
I was really enjoying watching the kids do their thing, but the big bounce house beckoned.
I estimated that there was about 15 minutes left in the service, so I snuck out on the kids, and hit the house.
You see, in my youth we didn't have bounce houses. They weren't invented yet. I was a little leery about my balance, but nobody was watching, so...
From nobody was I trying to hide...
so I climbed the ladder, went down the slide.
Down the slide and over the hump,
hit the middle and jumped and jumped.
Hit the 3rd part,
"Give me more! Give me more!
Tried to get out,
but there wasn't a door.
Could I squeeze through the window?
I hadn't much choice.
Didn't want to get caught...
by the girls and the boys.
I needed to get out before getting nailed,
got stuck in the circle...almost impaled.
To this long-winded story,
I must say good-bye,
and if you were wondering...
it was one big fat lie.
What was I thinking...telling this tall tale on the Lord's Day?
Back to the truth. Since I couldn't (or wouldn't) go in the bounce house, we didn't stay for the festivities, instead going to Culver's with our friends Bobby and Linda.
