Glenmacnass waterfall
I'm very behind with blipping - this Saturday's blip, posted Sunday evening!
We drove up to Dublin and back. But since we were not in a huge rush, we were able to take a scenic route in both directions.
We opted to drive up through the Wicklow Mountains on the old military road, and passed this waterfall without stopping.
After picking up my older daughter at Dublin Airport, we drove back by the same route. This time we stopped several times for photo ops, including at the waterfall. The waterfall is sadly on private property - so can only be viewed from the road.
We had very variable weather all day - sometimes bright sunshine, other times heavy rain showers. Earlier in the journey home I discovered that, when viewed through my Polaroid sunglasses, my camera viewing screen appeared totally blank - presumably the picture on it is emitted in polarised light in the opposite orientation. And it was raining when we stopped for this photo.
Soon after this we drove up to Glendalough, but at that point it was raining heavily, so we had no inclination to go for a walk. We then tried a hotel in Laragh for a meal, but there were long queues - it was, of course, Saturday evening! In the end, we drove home, and W cooked a meal at home.
