MY, WHAT BIG EYES YOU HAVE!

I find it amazing that a damselfly can land and balance on a simple flower petal and the petal doesn't give way a bit. The angle I caught on this one makes me think of an angel fish. There wasn't much of interest today, so my choices were a flower on a hosta stem, another bee blip or this damselfly. This was taken just before noon - the only time I was able to get out today. The sunlight was so intense that the body color is washed right out. With today's high humidity, the heat index was over 100 degrees (F), so I was lucky to find any activity at all. I have a lot of learning yet to get only the subject clear, not the background, etc. Aperture, depth of field, etc., etc., - will it ever make sense?!
