Church On Sunday
We managed a local walk to the top of Coppett Hill, Goodrich, Ross on Wye (England UK) with the daughter's two dogs. I changed my camera battery before we set off but after just a few photo's that battery was also exhausted!
No sooner had we got home than the weather changed and it started raining, and after a cuppa I was in the car travelling to the eldest son's house in Cwmbran to watch the 3pm Derby game of Swansea v Cardiff City FC. Swansea dominated the first half and scored after ten minutes. Ater we made substitutions early in the second half, we were much better and got an equaliser: From that point tempers rose, bookings were dished out and our manager got a red card. It ended 1-1 for our first point of the season. We're still bottom of the league after three matches but I've seen enough to suspect we will be near the top come the end of the season.
On the way home I stopped off at the disused Church of St Michael (15th C), in Llanvihangel Gobion near Abergavenny (South Wales). I photographed it over three years ago. it was empty then. There was a note on the gate that an Estate Agent in Usk has the key so I suspect it may be up for sale.
I've done a lamb hotpot in our slow cooker which has been cooking since 8am. Smells wonderful. It'll go down well with a glass of wine to celebrate our first point and NOT losing the Derby match!
