Watercolour Will

Today's the day ......................... to paint

Will would always much rather paint a portrait directly from life, particularly when the subject is totally engaged in doing something else - like playing a saxophone or singing.  But sometimes he has no choice but to paint from a photograph.

That's what he has been doing  in his room today - and actually, it was no hardship because the weather outside has been so abysmal that you wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere else.  I feel sorry for the participants in the Vintage Car Rally that was taking place in Kirkcudbright this afternoon.  Even if their vintage cars were water-tight enough for them to show up, I doubt whether there would be many tourists who would brave the deluge to admire them.

Ah well, maybe the autumn will be better .......................
