Tixall Gatehouse

All that remains of Tixall Hall which was demolished in 1927.

The Gatehouse is currently a rental property managed by the Landmark Trust but its main claim to fame is that Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned here for two weeks in 1586.

Somebody has told tourists that Staffordshire is worth visiting. Our roads and popular places have been so busy ! Let’s just hope we don’t end up with the problems facing Cornwall and The Lakes.
