Sgwarnog: In the Field

Light

Admiring the abstract light painting at Valley Parade - kind of a bleached out Mondrian, to my eye anyway.

This was my first home league game of the season at Bradford City, having been away in Wales for last weekend’s opener. Today’s visitors were Bromley - new to League football following their promotion from the National League.

Bromley had won their opening two games while City were also unbeaten, so it promised to be a competitive game. However, a sending off for Bromley in the 10th minute - a defender used their hands for a goal line clearance - and City converting the penalty awarded - meant the result was never really in doubt from that point. City added a second before the break, and a third mid way through the second half, before a late consolation for Bromley saw a 3-1 final score.

Early days, but City are second in the table after three games.
