WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

Stanfest

I’m behind with Blips but wow, what a fabulous day we had today!
Stanfest is a music festival in memory of Ian the builder’s Dad who loved music. It was in our village hall and the entertainment was excellent!
It was our first outing in the village since Frank was ill and everyone was so pleased to see him alive and kicking. We’ve never had so many hugs and kisses.
Frank and his band The Elderly Brothers did a set and were brilliant for a group of old codgers! Our choir were fabulous (we can’t wait to join them again in September) there were the line dancers, a young lad who was an amazing dancer, then our other local band The Time Bandits and a disco.
All proceeds go to Motor Neurone Disease and 2 other charities (can’t remember which) we had such fun and lots of laughs.
We caught up with those we hadn’t seen since before Frank was ill, we drank beer and danced the night away.
I won a couple of things in the raffle and a little lad came round with a board with numbers in a grid and you had to choose a number and write your name on. I chose my age 70 and the lad said 70? You only look 39! What a charmer, he was about 9 - I gave him a hug and said he was my friend for life :-D))
It was wonderful to be among our village friends all of whom have been a great support. We love our village.
We felt so happy and loved.
Now I’m so tired, it’s way past my bedtime.
Goodnight and thanks for all the lovely comments, stars and hearts.
;-)X
See extra.
